  • Early Modern title to Rickards
    29/01/2012

    Paul Rickards produced the drive of the event to take out the Early Modern title, and finish with the fourth fastest time overall.

    With co-driver Damiem Grimwood in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer 7, Rickards set the pace from the opening stage to run out the class winner by one minute 28 seconds over Tony Warren and Natasha Deniese.
  • Maguire in suprise victory

    Hobart’s Eddie Maguire has taken out the TMR Performance SHowroom class with co-driver Stevbe Glenney, finishing the two days 58 seconds clear of Dean Evans and Zoey Gillis in their 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.

    Scott Millar and Christopher Dean were third, three minutes 40 seconds from the lead in their 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.
  • Evans simply too good

    Simon and Sue Evans have blitzed the Showroom field, to take the Targa Wrest Point class title in their Mazda3 MPS. The Victorian pair finished six minutes and five seconds ahead of 2006 Mazda MX5 of Adam Dodd and Lee Challoner-Miles.

    There was a tie for third in the Showroom class between the James Hallett/Stuart Hatton combination and Hartley Sutcliffe and Peta Davies.
  • Early Classic success for Duggans
    29/01/2012

    Geoff Duggan and co-driver Leon Duggan have taken out the Early Classic Handicap title at the 2012 Targa Wrest Point.

    The pair, driving a 1969 Datsun 2000 Sports, had a comfortable three minute 48 second win over the 1971 Datsun 240Z of Robert Devenish and Karien Heimsohn.

    Locals Peter and Roslyn Killick finished third in their 1965 Ford Cortina, 39 seconds further back.
  • Ireland wins Late Classic
    29/01/2012

    John Ireland and Michael Ribot have taken top honours in the Late Classic handicap event.

    The pair, driving a 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3, have finished 27 seconds clear of the Stuarts, Paul and Lachie, in their 1973 Porsche Carrera RS. Third was the Robert Gambino/Paul Hibberd combo in a 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB a further 37 seconds in arrears.
